Emily Bourne, MCSP, MAACP
Emily is the company director and our practice principle.
She has over 15 years' experience in a wide range of roles, both in the NHS, private practice and sporting settings.
Emily continues to work part time in the NHS operating within local GP practices in a musculoskeletal advanced clinical practitioner role.
This role makes Emily highly skilled in triage, assessment and diagnostics.
Emily's clinical background has been as a musculoskeletal specialist, including sports injuries. She has extensive experience working with football and rugby, during roles at Fulham FC, New Zealand Football and Tawa Rugby club (NZ), however she enjoys working with a variety of different sports. Her sporting experience has made her a skilled clinician in the acute assessment of injuries as well as gaining expertise in movement screening and injury management.
In recent years, Emily has been developing her experience in oncology physiotherapy, particularly working with people post-operatively and assisting with their wider cancer rehabilitation. She is a certified scar therapy practitioner and uses these skills in conjunction with other hands on manual therapy techniques, as well as individualized exercise prescription, fatigue management and self-manage advice.
She has gained post-graduate level training in manual therapy, acupuncture, scar therapy and oncology, and holds Masters degree modules in MSK advanced clinical practice.
In her non-clinical time she is a busy mum of two, enjoys listening to jazz, playing football and going rock climbing.
