  • Physiotherapy Treatments

Our ability to move is fundamental to our ability to lead a vital and fulfilling life. Movement dysfunctions will impair our performance at work and play, impede our health, and potentially lead to pain and disease. Fortunately, Physiotherapists are experts in restoring movement. At Trinity Physiotherapy we employ a range of evidence-based treatments in order to achieve this, including the following:

    exercise prescription
    Exercise Prescription

As physios, we prescribe exercises as they have been shown to be the most effective treatment for most MSK conditions. They can empower you to engage in the rehab process, self manage your symptoms and prevent reoccurrance.

At Trinity Physiotherapy we pride ourselves in offering our patients the latest technologies to help you achieve your outcomes. We use a brand new app called PhysiApp. PhysiApp lets you complete your prescribed exercise program by following crystal-clear, narrated exercise videos. PhysiApp is completely free to download from the Apple store and Google Play store or can be accessed via your browser.

    manual therapy
    Manual Therapy

Manual therapy is a specialised area of Physiotherapy which is based on clinical reasoning, using highly specific treatment approaches including manual techniques such as massage/soft tissue therapy, mobilisation and manipulation. These treatments are predominently aimed at improving quality of movement and modulating pain. At Trinity Physiotherapy, we have postgraduate level training in these manual therapy techniqies and use them in conjuction with other treatments such as exercise.

    acupuncture
    Acupuncture

We use Western acupuncture as part of an integrated approach to treat pain, inflammation and muscle tension.

Treatments combine scientific evidence with traditional Chinese medicine principles, always with the aim of enhancing physiotherapy treatments, such as exercise and rehabilitation techniques, to promote recovery and improve quality of life. The use of acupuncture for the treatment of pain is supported by an ever-growing body of scientific research publications, both in the UK and worldwide, which prove its treatment effectiveness. Western acupuncture forms part of the NICE guidelines for managing pain.

At Trinity Physiotherapy, we are accredited members of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists. We may utilise acupuncture treatment at various stages through your journey with us, depending on clinical need.

    pilates
    Pilates

These are lower impact exercises specifically designed to improve strength, movement control, flexibility and body awareness in an even way. Pilates exercises are done on a mat or using special equipment, such as the Reformer. Exercises can be adapted to suit different levels of fitness and ability.

At Trinity Physiotherapy, we incorporate our physio knowledge to be able to adapt Pilates to help you recover from illness, injury or just as a way of keeping fit. We also run sessions that help teach our clients about their bodies and how to optimise their posture and movement.

We offer private or semi private matwork and small equipment pilates in the clinic, at your home or live on ZOOM. We can also teach reformer, springboard and cadalac pilates if you already have this equipment at home.

    strength and conditioning
    Strength And Conditioning

Once we have guided you through recovery, we focus on building resilience to prevent reoccurrance and enhance performance. Strength and conditioning builds upon your previous exercise program and tailors it to more specific goals.

We also have close links with the expert personal trainers at NG Health & Fitness, who are on hand to share their expertise in this field.

    taping
    Taping

Whether it be an acute injury that needs protecting, improving pain on movement, optimising loading through a joint or enhancing sporting performance; taping can be an excellent adjunct to Physiotherapy treatment.

At Trinity Physio we are trained in traditional strapping techniques and some of our clinicians have undergone advanced training in kinesio and dynamic taping.

    sports massage
    Sports Massage

Sports massage involves a firmer and deeper treatment. It has numerous benefits including helping to release tight soft tissues as well as improving blood flow and circulation.

It helps to promotes relaxation and reduces stress, so is great for all people not just sports people. Sports massage can be used to facilitate physio rehabilitation and injury prevention as well as enhancing sporting performance.

At Trinity Physiotherapy, we use sports massage as part of our Physiotherapy services but do offer it as a stand alone treatment.
